Please Remember MeHer voice resounded in his head, soft and breathless, a voice from the past, calling his name in the way that always made him shiver. It came again, haunting and drifting against him, wrapping him in the murmur of familiarity and love. It jerked him awake, and his eyes snapped open, while his mind desperately clung to the remaining echo of her voice, salvaging and saving it as best as he could. Despite his attempts, it faded quickly, leaving hollow aches in his stomach and chest. Save MeMusic played loud, turned to the highest point possible, swirling through the small house, filling every room with the hard rock sound. It was loudest in the front bedroom upstairs, the source of it all, and the room fairly vibrated with it. The occupant in the room didn’t seem to notice the music at all, using it as a tool to flood her own ears in hopes that she won’t hear the continual meaty thunk of fist hitting various parts of the body.
